Giving Thanks~ Day 10

Okay so I will probably say this more that once on here, but I like to think of myself as organized. I immediately laugh because I hear my husband in my ear telling me "You are a lot of things but organized is NOT one of them. Insert sad face here. I actually love to organize things but as far as those things staying organized, well that's another story. Which leads me to me Giving thanks for day 10 and that is meal plans. I would say that I actually love to cook, but if I am not organized with it, it then becomes a burden. I have for a long time made sure that I made my meal plans for that week and then went shopping for ingredients. It worked fine except for the times I went through my meals and had not yet gone shopping. So there I was standing in front of the refrigerator hoping a prepared meal would jump out into my hands. So realistically, I would just order pizza. Well I got to thinking, dangerous I know because it is like spaghetti in there, and came up with a new plan. I designed a new meal plan that will last for three months! Now before you get overwhelmed or envious that I could make something like that, let me explain. I have children who are picky eaters, don't we all?! I could think of maybe 2 weeks worth of dinners where I didn't hear "What are we having!!! OHHHH! I didn't want that!" So I figured if my husband didn't care, I was going to do the same 14 dinners for 3 months. Then I will change it up. So that is what I did.
And now that the kids are home all day I am usually asking them what they want for lunch at 11:59 and they are all telling me something different. So to fix that I came up with a lunch menu that is the same every week. Breakfast is also the same from week to week. This way they know what to expect and my shopping is going to be easier, much easier. I maybe won't even have to follow the recipe of the dinner by the end of the three months, who knows?! I hope this encourages you to make some meal plans and place a little less stress in your life.
